Having great health is truly helps us enjoy life so much more. Over the years, I’ve found some wonderful resources on health, diet, and fitness that I’m confident are helpful for anyone trying to maintain or obtain a healthy body. I’ve seen how diet can allow the body to heal in so many ways. In fact, there is a lot of evidence out there for proactive, everyday, kitchen-table solutions to many of our major health epidemics. The guy who makes it his business to read the thousands of scientific studies that come out on diet and health is Dr. Michael Greger of How Not to Die: Discover the Foods Scientifically Proven to Prevent and Reverse DiseaseHow Not to Die: Discover the Foods Scientifically Proven to Prevent and Reverse Disease which is a fabulous reference and one I read cover to cover and refer to often.
Another great resource, and plant-friendly doctor, is Dr. Joel Fuhrman. His latest book, The End of Dieting: How to Live for Life The End of Dieting: How to Live for Life is another great resource. It goes into depth on the principles of good health and weight loss, and includes a number of recipes you can incorporate into your diet. Fuhrman’s famous G-BOMBS (Greens, Berries, Onions. Mushrooms, Bean, Seeds/Nuts) are central to this book. I find his approach to eating – which he calls a “nutritarian” lifestyle – is incredibly empowering.
